Who Are We?

We are three foodies that enjoy eating! We like places of all cuisines and caliber and we're always looking to "try something new" whether that be a cuisine, a dish or simply "Hey, did you see that little tiny place down the back alley behind <insert popular street name here>?"

Each of us come from different areas and backgrounds and experiences in life and during our dinner discussions we often find that we all have different viewpoints that make us explore our experiences even deeper. Consequently we tend to have these deep discussions about our food. Many times we draw the attention of the staff and draw them in as well. (We end up with a lot of complimentary food and drink this way! LOL!)

So this is our place to share our experiences! We hope it brings YOU to new places and foods!!

So who are the contributors?

Tara Richards
Better known for her bariatric blog, Tara is a post-operative Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass foodie who, despite her surgery, continues to pursue the tasty tidbits where ever possible. After making the biggest (and best, in her opinion) choice to have the surgery, she worried that her modified stomach and changed eating habits would prohibit her from experiencing food in the way that she used to "in the old days". Instead she's found that her new palate and her new eating habits have opened up her ability to not only enjoy foods she used to enjoy in moderation but also to explore the new and different options that she may not have been brave enough to try in the past.

Forever a foodie! Tara is here to provide her insight from the perspective of a person on a mission to eat healthy for life and address the world from the point of view of someone who is sensitive to things like fat, carbs and sugars. Though she is not afraid to indulge at times, she knows that it is sometimes a risk to enjoy things a little TOO much but is willing to do it for the experience and for the chance to share her good food experiences (and bad ones too) with the world.

Nick Marsceill
Despite being extremely picky in eating in his day to day life Nick enjoys pushing the envelope when eating out.  At home he rarely eats any seafood and very few vegetables.  Eating out Nick likes to give the plate the benefit of the doubt rather than steer away from thing he normally wouldn't eat.  Some things still remain hard limits - like onion which make him sick.

Staple foods for Nick are non traditional meats, pastas, and cheeses.  Nick is an avid beer drinker who is learning through our adventures to appreciate more and more wine, unless good tequila is available instead.  Whether with wine or beer,  cheese pairings are one of his favorite appetizer or dessert options.
